I recently finished some gorgeous made to measure blouses for Sue, a lovely client who has been a regular visitor to my studio for over 17 years.

Sue's micro-pleat blouse

The black micro-pleat blouse has a ruffle collar high neck and is semi fitted with slim sleeves and flared cuffs.

Sue's pussy-bow blouse

The white pussy bow blouse is made from silk crepe de chine and features mother of pearl buttons.

Sue, a winemaker with Wynns, is pictured here in one of my classic white shirts, a less formal look than the other two blouses, which is a versatile addition to her wardrobe.

This shirt is semi-fitted with a double collar and stand and turn-back cuffs, and is finished with shiny chrome stud fastenings rather than standard buttons and buttonholes.

Sue loves the blouses and all the bespoke clothing I have made for her over the years.

Here’s what she has to say about her experience using my couture services:-

Julie’s bespoke clothing services were recommended to me by a lady who regularly visited the winery where I work and who is a client and good friend of Julie’s.

In my field of work, it is important to look professional yet approachable as I meet people from all walks of life who need to feel relaxed when sampling and choosing quality wines. Julie takes this into account with each garment she makes. She is a great people person, listens to my ideas and understands exactly what I’m looking for.

I once bought some beautiful fabric from Japan not knowing what to do with it. I showed it to Julie and because she knows so much about fabric she knew exactly what she could make with it: a perfect example of her versatility and experience.

Julie’s work is of the highest quality and the garments she has made for me over the years are classics that stand the test of time. She is easy going, flexible and goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect.
