‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Director Daina Reid Brought the Ultimate Accessory to the Emmys

by Julie Goodwin, / Monday September 23rd 2019

The 2019 Emmys purple carpet has been full of bows, teal and celeb family members. But Handmaid’s Tale director Daina Reid and first-time Emmy nominee brought an epic accessory—a purse subtly referencing the hit drama.

If you didn’t know, Reid directed episodes 11 and 12 of the second season of THT and has been nominated for most outstanding director of a drama series.

In honor of her nomination, the director stepped onto the carpet at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles wearing a dress-over-pants creation by Melbourne-based designer Julie Goodwin. She paired the outfit with a handbag that had a special phrase written on the side.

See the full look below.

And if you look a bit closer, you can see an infamous phrase written on her Jimmy Choo bag…

“Praise be.”

Now that’s awesome.
